Have You Suffered from a Stroke? (or do you know someone who has?)
Individuals who come to Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital Outpatient Stroke Center receive high quality of care from licensed rehabilitation professionals.
Our Rehabilitation Team consists of a physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech language pathologist, case manager and the individual's personal physician. Each therapist has specialized training in the area of stroke rehabilitation and years of experience treating the stroke population.
Services provided at the Outpatient Stroke Center include:
- Physical therapy - Occupational therapy - Speech therapy, including cognitive re-training - Psychological counseling services for patients and families - Driving screening at discharge - Swallow screening; videofluoroscopy evaluation, if needed - Balance screening and rehabilitation - Stroke Support Group meetings for individuals and families twice a month - Home evaluations (by special arrangement) - Aquatic Therapy - Neuropsychological evaluation
Therapy programs can be composed of any or all of the services listed above. A comprehensive evaluation is performed by our team of rehabilitation professionals to determine which services are appropriate, as well as an assessment of the need for adaptive equipment. Based on the evaluation results, a progressive, individualized Care Plan is developed that incorporates the individual's and family's goals for recovery.
Progress is monitored throughout the treatment program and the referring physician is kept informed. The Pinecrest Outpatient Stroke Center offers an opportunity for all individuals who have suffered a stroke to achieve their maximum potential and return to functional independence.
