Question: What if I miss therapy because of a medical problem or reason? 

Answer: If you miss therapy due to a medical reason, every attempt will be made to schedule a make-up session.

Question: What if I cannot tolerate all the therapy?

Answer:  We will attempt to organize your schedule to

maximize your rest time and therapy time. 

Question: What if I do not make the expected progress in my therapy?

Answer:  If a less intensive level of care would better meet your needs or your functional progress is not consistent with this level of care, then a discharge will be initiated to help you find a more appropriate placement level.  Your case manager will assist you in transferring to a nursing home with rehab or home with assistance.

Question: How long will I stay here?

Answer: The anticipated length of stay in the joint replacement program is 5-10 days. Your rehab team will work with you to set goals for your stay and your discharge date will be based on these.  Your Case Manager will work with your insurance company/Medicare guidelines to determine coverage of your stay based on your physical status and goals.
